About InTownAthletics and BASicBALL

Our Approach

Our approach has always been very relationship driven.  Our goal is to help be a positive influence and a resource in the development process while helping athletes of all ages achieve their goals.

Our Background

Now a Professional Scout, Jason Howell spent 5 years within the Boston Redsox Organization as a player and has 15 years of college coaching experience. His stops include 2 National Championship appearances with the University of North Carolina Tarheels, 5 years and 3 championships with the UNCW Seahawks and most recently 7 seasons with Georgia Tech where he served as recruiting coordinator on the 2019 #3 National Seed Yellow Jackets.

A multi sport recruited athlete, Meredith Howell played college field hockey where she earned all conference honors while studying psychology at Appalachian State University.  Following college, Meredith competed nationally in tennis and mentored young athletes while coaching high school field hockey.

During their more than twenty years as both players and coaches, Jason and Meredith were constantly approached regarding skills, assessments and development surrounding the college and professional game.  Therefore, with a direct need and an ever changing atmosphere in athletics, Jason and his wife Meredith set out to help aspiring athletes, parents and coaches navigate the waters and achieve their goals by creating BASic BALL, FitPitch and FitHit.

By offering first hand experience, we can help address needs and questions regardless of age or skill level.
